DMS-25

With DMS-25 , we worked on developing the previous years car to improve some key aspects of the car.

A large part of the brakes system was completely overhauled to allow us to run new brake master cylinders as the previous ones where leaking. Along with the master cylinders, we worked on improving the ergonomics of the pedal deck to improve the drivability of the car especially for drivers of different sizes.

We improved several key areas of the electrical system. The team designed and implemented their next generation High Voltage Controller and Vehicle Control Unit, improving reliability and allowed the team to unlock maximum vehicle performance. DMS-25 also implemented a new CAN datalogger, giving the team valuable post-race data for analysis. We improved the cooling system to improve the flow of coolant through all important components allowing them to stay cool and reliable.

Another key change to this years car was improving the motor mounts to allow for more adjustability in the drivetrain. Allowing for more adjustability allows for improved chain tension which improves power delivery to the wheels.

We took this improved car to Formula Hybrid + Electric at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in late April. We passed all the required inspections to participate in the dynamic events. After technical inspections, we worked on motor tunning tuning to improve power delivery. This motor tuning along with all the other improvements led to our fastest ever 75 meter acceleration time of a 4.91 seconds.

After acceleration, we competed in autocross in which we completed a 56 second run.

During our endurance run we managed to complete 5 laps before unfortunately having to retire due to a battery issue.

We finished 9th overall and came second for THE TEST EQUITY AWARD , for being prepared for electrical technical inspection.
